Canada: Day 4 - The Falls

So the main attraction in Niagara Falls is....you guessed it, the Canadian Falls. Now the American Falls are pretty, but the Canadian Falls are spectacular! Our day was fully packed with all the touristy things to do, and it was definitely worth it! We started by going behind the Falls, literally like 200 feet underground to these tunnels they dug out that are behind them. There are little areas where you can look to see the falls right in front of you! So neat and loud! We also ate lunch overlooking the Falls, then went on to The Maid of the Mist. This is a boat that takes you almost into the Falls, it takes you to both sets first the American then the Canadian. You get completely soaked, but it is the most amazing thing to be down there on a boat and look up to see this magnificent thing that God created. Wow can't even begin to describe it! The thunder of the water coming down was deafening. Of course, this sounds a little dangerous, but it is completely safe....they won't take you close enough for anything but the mist to hit you, but there is so much that you will get wet!

We also took a ride on the Aero car, which is a cable car that goes over the Whirpool of the Niagara River. Very scary to think about what is below you! But what a beautiful way to see the River! The river also has class 6 rapids, which are the highest ranked rapids in the world. Virtually impossible to go down. There have been some that tried! Anyway, they have this "boardwalk" next to them. You get in an elevator that takes you down somewhere close to 250 feet, then you step out to walk along the rapids! These are some monster waves! I have no clue what would inspire these people to even try to go down them! But it was a really pretty and intriguing walk.

Next up, we went to the Butterfly Conservatory. This was Caroline's absolute favorite part of the whole trip! When you see the pictures, you will see why.

By the end of the day...we were pooped! So much so, that we got back to the hotel and ordered a pizza, sad I know, but before it even got there Caroline was fast asleep! So much for dinner!

Enjoy the pictures!
