Punk Rock Summer

Hey y'all!  Last week was busy and I'm sorry I never really got around to posting.  I'll leave you with this short post until I can finish up the ones from last week!

Caroline is 8 {well 8 & 1/2 according to her} and she cracks me up with the things she comes up with.  If you remember way back to last Halloween, she and her best friends wanted to be rockstars, and I made costumes for 5 punk crazy little girls!  I thought I blogged about it, but I never did {shame on me}!  The girls, mostly Caroline wanted to dye their hair crazy colors.  Ummm, no!  so we bought a few clip in strands of lime green hair and then we also tied turquoise tulle in their messy rocker hair. They were totally rockstar fabulous if I do say so!

 Her serious face...cracks me up!

All that leads me to summer{now!} and 3 of the above girls have a super cool mom that took them and had semi-permanent color highlights put in their hair.  Let me tell you, the minute sweet Caroline saw those, it was non-stop begging!  She was going to be in a wedding so I told her that we couldn't do anything like that.  Needless to say, the wedding was last weekend, and she was ready to chop her hair off and beg for colors again!  I figured it was summer, so what could it hurt?  Right?

Sorry these were taken with the 'ole cell phone, so the quality stinks!

She loves, loves her new hair!

A Little Fun

I haven't posted about my recent hair adventures, and they have been many, but tonight I was just having some fun and thought I'd share.  I'm a natural blonde.  I get a few high/low lights twice a year and that's pretty much it.  About 4 years ago, I dyed my hair dark for the 1st time ever.  I did it again about a year & a half ago {remember Brenda?}.  About 6 weeks ago I was feeling a little need to get some of my low lights out of my hair.  Ready to be blonde blonde again!  I took it upon myself to do this myself...because I have a super cheap hubby who gets whiney when I go get my hair done to save a little money.  HA!  The joke was on me.  It was green.  And blue.  And completely awful.  And 10pm on a Friday night, which is good right?  Wrong.  Sadly I had 2 funerals to go to the next day, and I certainly couldn't go like that.  So I get in the car and drive to town {remember, I live outside of town, in the country} at 10pm to find a quick fix.  I ended up getting something super dark.  It was all I could think of to do.  I still haven't gotten used to it, and it makes me grumpy.  I'm just not a brunette.

So, last weekend I went and got it cut at a walk-in place.  Huge mistake #2.  Why am I doing this to myself?  I'm claiming temporary insanity.  I ended up with the worst cut.  I cried all the way home.  I feel like I have a girl mullet.  Serious shaping around my face, and its shorter around my face than I like.  Ugghhhhhh.  I told hubby that this is what happens when you don't go to your usual salon to get it done by the wonderful stylist who normally does your hair.  He actually agreed.  Needless to say, I'm off to the salon bright and early Saturday morning to get it fixed!!!  Yay me!!!

You can see how dark it is here...

I was playing around tonight with one of those virtual hair design things...

Whaddya think?  Cheesy right?  Although I kinda like the last 2, I just don't know what it would really look like on me!  I do know I'm definitely going back to blonde though!  Even though I know the quality of these looks isn't very good, what's your opinion on the short, short hair?  Does it even look right on me?  I've gained some weight so my face is pretty chubby right now and I'm not sure I could pull off anything that short?!?!?  Help!

It Really Was Whiny Wednesday

***Updated Below***

Boy oh boy was yesterday just whiny! I thought I had it bad, but nope, so did my poor Boog. We have been having a problem for the last 2 weeks of getting our clip changed at school.

*****Quick side story*****

Each child starts out on blue everyday, if they act out, don't do their work, or various other things, they have to move their "clip" to another color. The color scale is as follows: Blue {great day}, Green {had a few rough spots}, Yellow {3rd strike}, Orange {call to the parents}, & Red {you guessed it, visit the principal}.

*****Side story over*****

Out of the last 2 weeks, she has only been blue 2 times! That's just not good! Green 2 times, Yellow 3 times & Orange once! I have been so discouraged, and just can't seem to help her. So last night we were talking about ways that she can change this behavior, and I really hope she can just step up, and be a big girl. I know she can. But the whole night she cried and whined, and was just plain miserable! I'm afraid she may be coming down with something, but I'm praying she doesn't since her birthday party is this weekend! She kept on telling me she was freezing, but the house was warm. No fever though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

On another note, one of the things I have a HUGE problem with is Boog chewing her hair....so gross! About 2 months ago, we told her if she kept doing it, we were taking her to get it cut short so that she wouldn't be able to chew on it anymore....we had to get it cut. And honestly, she looks better with short hair because it is so fine and straight, but she doesn't know that ;) She wants to have long, long hair, so getting it cut seems to work because she is so sad it's not long, she'll quit chewing on it....for a little while. Well it was finally growing out a little, enough for a ponytail at least, and she has been chewing on it again for a few weeks, so last night we trekked to get it cut...again. But, I had them stack it in the back and angle it to the front, it looks great! I'll post pics when I get the chance!

So........can anyone guess what she has been getting in trouble for at school? If you know me then this should not be so hard to figure out, I get teased all the time for doing the same thing. We'll see if anyone gets it right!

***I guess it really wouldn't be a shock huh? I mean I do have a blog and all so I can constantly "talk"!!! But yep, Caroline has been talking too much and yes dad, disrupting the class! How do I make her stop?***

It's only hair after all....

Every now and then I get tired of my long locks and I decide to cut them....this was the case yesterday. Now I know, many of you prefer me with my long hair {Michelle, if you read this before I call you, I'm sorry!} Trust me, my usually sweet hubby, wasn't so sweet last night! Our conversation went something like this:

Me: Surprise Honey!

Tab: Ugggghhhhhh

Me: I love you honey, it'll grow back!

Tab: Uh-huh

So, if you don't like it, so what! Just don't say anything!
